Power Station Class
1 kWh Power Stations
What a 1 kWh power station can run, for how long, and how current models near 1 kWh compare on output, surge, expansion and recharge, using published manufacturer specifications.
Starting 100 W for 12 h is a hypothetical example. Runtime uses 900 Wh (1,000 Wh × 0.90). Recommended size adds Zaron's 20% margin. 90% and 20% are planning assumptions, not universal constants. If startup is blank, verify manufacturer specifications.

Runtime at common loads
How Long Does 1 kWh Last?
Constant load, 900 Wh planning energy. Runtime in hours = 900 ÷ watts.
| Load | Planning runtime | Hours + minutes |
|---|---|---|
| 50 W | 18 h | 18 h 0 min |
| 100 W | 9 h | 9 h 0 min |
| 200 W | 4.5 h | 4 h 30 min |
| 500 W | 1.8 h | 1 h 48 min |
| 1,000 W | 0.9 h | 54 min |
| 1,500 W | 0.6 h | 36 min |
What can it run?
What a 1 kWh Power Station Can and Can't Do.
Categories, not promises. Real results depend on your devices.
Low-power essentials
Router and modem, LED lights, phone and laptop charging. Verify each device's label.
Cycling and motor loads
A refrigerator or pump depends on daily energy, running watts and startup demand. Verify manufacturer specifications.
High-power loads
Microwave, kettle, space heater or window AC use a 1 kWh battery quickly and need enough AC output.
≠ 1 kWENERGY vs POWER
Capacity and Output Are Different Specifications.
1 kWh tells you how much energy is stored. The AC output in watts tells you what it can run at once, and the surge figure tells you what it may start. Check all three against your load.

Methodology
Numbers You Can See. Assumptions You Can Check.
90% and 20% are Zaron planning assumptions, not universal constants. Zaron compares published specifications and has not physically tested these products.

Straight Answers.
How long will a 1 kWh power station last?
Divide usable energy by load watts. Using Zaron's 90% planning assumption, 1,000 Wh becomes about 900 Wh, so a 100 W load runs about 9 hours and a 1,500 W load about 36 minutes. Real results depend on the product, inverter, temperature and load.
Is 1 kWh the same as 1 kW?
No. 1 kWh is stored energy. 1 kW is power, the rate of use. A power station's capacity (Wh) and its AC output (W) are separate specifications.
Can a 1 kWh power station run a refrigerator?
Possibly for a limited time. It depends on the refrigerator's daily energy use, its running and startup power, and the unit's published continuous and surge ratings. Use the checker and verify manufacturer specifications.
Are all 1 kWh power stations the same?
No. Models near 1 kWh differ in continuous AC output, published surge figures, expandability, recharge options and weight. Compare them against your own load.
Can I expand a 1 kWh power station?
Some can, some cannot. Among the models compared here, EcoFlow lists the DELTA 3 Plus as expandable from 1 to 5 kWh, Anker states the C1000 Gen 2 is not expandable, and the Jackery spec page reviewed lists no expansion.
Did Zaron test these power stations?
No. This page compares published manufacturer specifications. Zaron does not claim to have physically tested these products.
